Vinicius Jr Reveals Penalty Decision

Vinicius Jr admitted Carlo Ancelotti preferred Bruno Guimaraes to take a penalty for Brazil vs Norway.

Vinicius Jr explained that Ancelotti decides before the match who will take penalties, and he chose Bruno.

What happened?

Vinicius Jr said he's never shied away from responsibility and takes penalties at Real Madrid when the coach chooses him.

He also backed up his teammate Guimaraes, saying the coach chose Bruno because he had been training well.

Unfortunately, Bruno missed, but Vinicius Jr hopes this doesn't tarnish his career with the national team.

Vinicius Jr has taken 19 penalties in his career, scoring 13 and missing six, which is a 68.4% efficiency rate.

This is below the average for a decent penalty taker, which is between 75% to 82%.

Brazil had too many chances to beat Norway, with two penalties in the game, and arguably created more clear chances than Norway.

Despite this, Brazil are out of the 2026 World Cup, with their worst finish in World Cup history.

Vinicius Jr will look to improve his penalty record and help Brazil bounce back from their disappointing World Cup exit.

Endrick missed a wide open shot, and Nyland was incredible in goal for Norway, as Brazil had no one to blame but themselves for the loss.
